You leave the river Euphrates and two nights later you are camping beside the River Tigris. The next few days are spent walking across the flat plain. Nur-Shamash follows a well-worn path, keeping the river Tigris on his right at all times. He stops for short breaks to eat a mid-day meal and to camp at night. The donkeys are fed in the morning and evening from a supply of grain carried by the oldest animals.

Finally, on the horizon you see the city of Ashur. The huge temples can be seen clearly. This is an exciting moment for you. There are pilgrims on the road, heading towards Ashur to take part in a festival of the goddess Ishtar. They are singing and dancing and very happy.

Do you join the pilgrims or carry on with Nur-Shamash?
