After a full day on the river, the rafts are docked in a large lagoon. All around you are tall banks of reeds. Nearby is a village of arched buildings, some of which are enormous. They are all made of reeds which have been tied together in bundles. Reed mats lie on the banks of the lagoon.

The people start unloading their grain while the owners of the reed houses bring out food and drink. You eat lots of dates and feel ready to help load the grain onto the backs of donkeys. Damqi-ilishu is carried on a sledge pulled by oxen. He waves a fan in front of his face. He is going eastwards to Susa and Elam.

The men get ready to take their rafts back to Sippar. Do you go back with them or go on with Damqi-ilishu?
