As the donkeys move across the flat plain towards the city of Susa four men appear riding donkeys. They look very suspicious but Damqi-ilishu seems to know them. He says that they can accompany his caravan.

It is too late to reach the city tonight so everybody sets up camp. The four men lay out their beds close to you. You overhear the four men talking in Elamite. Damqi-ilishu joins them. You understand enough to realise that they are discussing how much money they will make by smuggling textiles into Susa. They wouldn't have to pay taxes to the local ruler.

In the morning Damqi-ilishu calls everybody together. He says he will split the caravan into two: one group will go with him, the other will be led by the four smugglers.

Do you go with smugglers or carry on to Susa?
