After a short journey the caravan climbs the road leading up to the great gateway of Susa. High above the houses you can see the citadel with palaces and temples. Huge animal horns decorate the temple to show that it is the home of a god. Damqi-ilishu is keen to unload the donkeys and meet up with the other group. Suddenly soldiers march past with the four strangers. They have their arms tied behind their backs. People on the street whisper that they are smugglers. Damqi-ilishu looks nervous. He clearly hopes the smugglers won't mention his name. You were lucky not to have travelled with the strangers. Your father will be pleased you have learnt so much about the trade with Susa.
